Common use of Seniority in Rank Clause in Contracts

Seniority in Rank. 1. The employee with the most time in a classified rank shall be considered the senior in rank. 2. Where employees of classified ranks other than the rank of Fire Fighter have been promoted at the same time, seniority in rank shall be determined by the employee’s placement on their respective eligibility list. 3. Where employees of the rank of Fire Fighter have the same amount of time in that classification, seniority in rank shall be determined by their badge number.
