Common use of Seniority Retention and Accumulation Clause in Contracts

Seniority Retention and Accumulation. Seniority shall be retained and accumulated, when an employee is absent from work, under the following circumstances: i) When on an approved leave of absence with pay or an approved leave of absence without pay not exceeding thirty (30) continuous calendar days; ii) When absent due to substantiated illness or disability preventing the employee from performing the essential duties of the employee’s position for up to thirty (30) months; iii) When on pregnancy/parental leave.

Seniority Retention and Accumulation. Seniority shall be retained and accumulated, accumulated when an employee is absent from work, work under the following circumstances: ia) When on an approved leave of absence with pay or an approved leave of absence without pay not exceeding of thirty (30) continuous calendar daysdays or less; iib) When absent due to substantiated illness or disability preventing when in receipt of Workplace Safety & Insurance Board benefits until such time as declared permanently disabled by the employee from performing the essential duties of the employee’s position for up to thirty (30) monthsWorkplace Safety & Insurance Board; iiic) When on pregnancy/parental leavefor a period of twenty-four (24) months after commencement of disability.
