Serious Family Illness - Immediate Family. 1. All school aides who are steadily employed by the Board shall be allowed five days of absence with full pay at the discretion of the Superintendent in any school year for serious illness or injury of a member of the immediate family. 2. Immediate family is defined to include: Father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister or any member of the immediate household. 3. Unused days shall not be accumulated for use in another school year. 4. An aide claiming serious family illness leave may be required by the Superintendent to submit a physician's certificate in order to obtain the leave.
