Death in the Immediate Family. An allowance of up to five (5) days leave shall be granted. Immediate family shall be considered as father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and grandparents, or any member of the immediate household.
Death in the Immediate Family. The teacher may take a maximum of five (5) sick days per death at the time of the death. Immediate family shall be interpreted as mother, father, husband, wife, grandparents, grandchild, child, sister, and brother of teacher and/or his/her spouse. One (1) of these days must be the funeral day.
Death in the Immediate Family. Death of a member of the immediate family as defined in Section 10.16. Additionally, unit members may use Personal Necessity Leave for the purpose of attending the funeral of a close friend or relative not included in the definition of immediate family.
Death in the Immediate Family. Upon notification to the principal or immediate supervisor, up to three (3) days bereavement leave per occasion without loss of pay shall be granted for death in the immediate family of spouse or teacher. Additional days may be granted upon written request to the Superintendent when circumstances require a lengthier absence. In the event of death in other than the immediate family where extenuating circumstances exist, a request should be directed to the Superintendent and said request will thereafter be considered. For the purposes of clarification, the immediate family is defined as including father, mother, husband, wife, children, sister, brother, father‐in‐law, mother‐in‐law, sister‐ in‐ law, brother‐in‐law, son‐in‐law, daughter‐in‐law, grandparents, and grandchildren.
Death in the Immediate Family. 1. A teacher shall be allowed, without loss of pay, a leave of not more than five (5) consecutive school days because of a death in his/her immediate family or because of a death of a relative (providing the relative has been living in the home of the teacher).
2. If a teacher misses more than five (5) school days because of a death described in Section C.1., he/she shall suffer a per diem reduction in his/her contractual salary commencing with the sixth (6th) day of his/her absence, unless additional days are granted by the Superintendent.
3. Leave days under this section cannot be accumulated.
4. The provisions of this section shall in no way affect the provisions of Section B.
Death in the Immediate Family. A maximum of up to five (5) days may be granted at the time of death, when needed, in case of a death in the Immediate Family. The term “Immediate Family” is defined below: Husband, wife, parents, grandparents, parent-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, child, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, grandparents-in-law, stepparent, stepsister, stepbrother, stepchild, or a person for whom the driver principally is responsible for financial and physical care.
Death in the Immediate Family. 1. Up to five (5) days, as needed, shall be granted for bereavement per family member death. Such days will be deducted from sick leave. For the death of non-family members, personal leave or unpaid days must be used.
2. If extenuating circumstances exist, exceptions to this policy may be granted.
3. For purposes of bereavement leave, “family” shall be defined as: fiancé, spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, or spouse’s parent, brother, sister, or grandparent or a member of the employee’s household.
Death in the Immediate Family. The administrator may take a maximum of five (5) days per death. Immediate family shall be interpreted as mother, father, spouse, parent of spouse, brother, sister, child, grandparents, grandchild, or other dependents in the immediate household of the administrator.
Death in the Immediate Family. When a death occurs in the immediate family, the employee may be absent three days without loss of pay. Any further approved absence beyond the three days because of death in the family, will be without loss of pay, at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Death in the Immediate Family. Up to three (3) days leave of absence with pay chargeable against the teacher's sick leave allowance shall be granted for each death in the immediate family (spouse, children, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, brothers, and sisters of the employee or spouse or any person considered to be in such relationship). Total leave days for this purpose shall not exceed ten (10) days per year. Funeral leave shall be used for the purpose of making family, financial and funeral arrangements for and attending the funeral. Said leave shall end within forty-eight (48) hours of the day of the funeral. The above funeral leave may be augmented with the use of unused personal business leave.
