Common use of – Serious Health Leave Clause in Contracts

– Serious Health Leave. An unpaid leave of absence may be granted for employees dealing with serious health conditions, other than maternity, or extenuating care giving situations for immediate family. The District may grant up to a maximum of 12 weeks to run concurrently with any available and appropriate paid leave. It is understood and agreed that such leave constitutes not guarantee that the employee will be assigned to the employee’s former position at the conclusion of such leave, only that the employee will be returned to a position for which they are qualified.
