Service Provisions. (1) In recognition of the unique nature of their positions, STAGE DIRECTORS and CHOREOGRAPHERS are not subject to the rehearsal limitations or the overtime provisions contained elsewhere in this Agreement. However, OPERA THEATRE shall assign only reasonable and industry accepted hours and responsibilities. This is not to relinquish the STAGE DIRECTOR’s and CHOREOGRAPHER’s rights with regards to the other provisions of this Agreement including, but not limited to the Arbitration, Force Majeure, and the like. (2) ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR, STAGE MANAGERS, and ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS shall receive overtime compensation for all hours of rehearsal in any week in excess of fifteen (15) three (3) hour rehearsal sessions (excluding Chorus musical rehearsals). In lieu of such weekly overtime compensation, ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS, engaged for more than one (1) production during the season, will receive at least four (4) weeks of the ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS Weekly Overtime Increment. (3) Services on a free day or holiday, other than a single three (3) hour rehearsal on Memorial Day, will be compensated at the appropriate overtime rate. The minimum call for work on a free day or holiday will be four (4) hours. (4) STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS are entitled to a minimum one (1) hour meal break (one and one half hours when the pre and post break services are at Selkirks) exclusive of travel but inclusive of rehearsal setup of not more than fifteen (15) minutes) between the morning and the afternoon rehearsal or performance, and between the afternoon and evening rehearsal or performance. Any STAGING STAFF PRINCIPAL who is not provided with a meal break will receive one (1) hour of overtime, at time and one half. STAGING STAFF PRINCIPAL must seek approval of OPERA THEATRE before incurring overtime. (5) If a STAGING STAFF PRINCIPAL is required to work more than five (5) hours without a meal break, dress rehearsals excluded, then he shall be paid at double-time for all hours until such break is given. STAGING STAFF PRINCIPAL must seek approval of OPERA THEATRE before incurring overtime. (6) During rehearsal sessions STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS shall be allowed uninterrupted rest periods no later than every ninety (90) minutes according to the formula below. Dress Rehearsals shall be excepted, in which case rest periods will coincide with intermissions. It there are no intermissions, then a fifteen (15) minute rest period will be given at the conclusion of the run-through of the show (including bows) and before the commencement of any notes or further direction from the STAGE DIRECTOR or Conductor. (b) At least forty-eight (48) hours before the beginning of each week in the season, Employer will provide each member of the Production Staff the updated schedule for the coming week that includes all additions to the season schedule of rehearsals and performances. Employer shall utilize its best efforts to include all releases with such updated weekly schedule. Employer will pay time and one-half (1½) for actual hours worked to each Production Staff Member who works a rehearsal or performance that (a) starts or extends after 7 p.m. any day and (b) that occurs before 7 p.m. on weekends who did not previously have any rehearsals or performances scheduled on the updated weekly schedule during that time (i.e., who did not have any scheduled rehearsals or performances starting or extending after 7 p.m. that day or who did not have any scheduled rehearsals or performances before 7 p.m. on that weekend day).
(c) Each performance in which the Production Staff Member participates shall be counted as four (4) hours of service. No Production Staff Member shall be required to attend any rehearsal during any day in which he participates in two (2) ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR, STAGE MANAGERS, and ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS shall receive overtime compensation for all hours of rehearsal in any week in excess of fifteen performances.

If the call for the pre-performance lecture does not include the performance the minimum call shall be paid at doubletwo (2) hours unless such pre-time for all hours until such break performance lecture is given. (6f) During rehearsal sessions STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS Other than for meetings called by the Employer, the minimum call for rehearsals shall be allowed uninterrupted rest periods no later than every ninety two (902) minutes according to hours, unless such rehearsal is the formula below. Dress Rehearsals shall be exceptedonly service of the day, in which case rest periods will coincide with intermissions. (7g) STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS Except for a one-half (½) hour post Piano Run-Through production meeting which concludes no later than 8 p.m., no rehearsal shall extend past 7 p.m. on Sundays.
(h) A Production Staff Member shall receive overtime at the rate of time and one one-half (1½) for all hours of work occurring within twelve service outside of these parameters, such rate to be determined by dividing his regular weekly compensation by forty (12) hours from the conclusion of the preceding day’s last scheduled service40).
(8) All overtime i) Employer agrees to provide a system for backstage photographing of Actors and supernumeraries for use in producing identification cards.
(j) Employer will utilize best efforts not to schedule Sunday rehearsals prior to 12:00 p.m. Production Staff shall be computed in quarter hour incrementspaid double time for time worked prior to 11:00 a.m.
(k) The Employer shall be responsible for revisions to the printed pages of the score or libretto. This shall not apply to markings applicable only to Production Staff, nor shall it prohibit minor changes, e.g., changing a few words.

ARTISTS will not be required to rehearse or perform or travel for more than ten (10) consecutive days without a free day, in which case the eleventh (11th) day must be a free day. In the event the OPERA THEATRE finds it necessary to call an ARTIST on the free day, such ARTIST shall be compensated no less than time and one- half (1½) for the first occurrence and double time for any subsequent occurrence and shall further receive a replacement free day in each such week. STAGE MANAGERS, who are required to work on a free day in a week where no other free day may be given shall be paid the double time rate for the actual time worked with a four (4) hour minimum, a three and one-half (3½) hour minimum if the only call of the day is a Sitzprobe. Services on a free day or holiday, other than a single three (3) hour rehearsal on Memorial Day, will be compensated at the appropriate overtime rate. The minimum call for work on a free day or holiday will be four (4) hours.

All breaks shall be a minimum of ten (10) minutes. For any rehearsals with the orchestra, all Artists shall receive the same breaks as the orchestra. Except for breaks with the orchestra, no Artist can go more than ninety (90) minutes without a break. Any break given after ninety (90) minutes of work shall be at least twenty (20) minutes. If the Artist must rehearse more than ninety (90) minutes in order to finish an act run, then a full twenty (20) minute break will be taken at the end of said act run. If continuity is broken in the run of the act, an appropriate break shall be taken. (9) The call for an ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR, STAGE MANAGER, and ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER shall be one-half (½) hour before his/her first rehearsal of the day and one-half (½) hour before the first hair and make-up or crew call for each performance or dress rehearsal in which he/she is involved. An ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR’s, STAGE MANAGER’s, and ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER’s dismissal shall be one-half (½) hour after his/her final rehearsal of the day or, if his final service of the day is a performance, at the conclusion of said performance (one-half (½) hour after the conclusion of the performance for the Staging Staff member responsible for preparing the performance report).

Service Provisions. (1i) A week shall consist of sixty (60) hours. In any week in which the sixty (60) hours is exceeded, the ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR shall be paid at the overtime rate for every hour beyond sixty (60) in the week.

(4iv) STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS For rehearsals in the studio, ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTORS are entitled to a minimum of one (1) hour meal break between the first (1st) and second (2nd) rehearsals of the day of which 30 (thirty) minutes must be uninterrupted, and a minimum of one and one one-half hours when the pre and post (1½) hour meal break services are at Selkirks) exclusive of travel but inclusive of rehearsal setup of not more than fifteen (15) minutes) between the morning second (2nd) and third (3rd) rehearsals of the afternoon rehearsal day, of which 60 (sixty) minutes must be uninterrupted. If an Assistant Stage Director does not receive the thirty (30) minute or performancesixty (60) minute uninterrupted breaks, Employer will provide a beverage and between the afternoon and evening rehearsal meal of nutritional value to each person so affected or performancepay each person ten dollars ($10). If EMPLOYER requires the use of ASSISTANT STAGE DIRECTOR’s personal computer equipment or cellular telephone for business purposes, or if the EMPLOYER schedules the Assistant Stage Director to work more than five (5) hours without a meal breakout of house, dress rehearsals excluded, then he shall be paid at double-time for all hours until such break is given. STAGING STAFF PRINCIPAL must seek approval of OPERA THEATRE before incurring overtime.
(6) During rehearsal sessions STAGING STAFF PRINCIPALS shall be allowed uninterrupted rest periods no later than every ninety (90) minutes according to the formula below.
