Service to send samples Sample Clauses

Service to send samples. To send the samples from the biobanks to the distributed archiving system, BIOPOOL includes a service. This service is developed in MS .NET 2010 and will be installed in each biobank, in an associated PC of the microscopy or in a PC or server with access to the images generated for the microscopy and the clinical data. As a service to be used by the lab technician responsible for sharing the samples BIOPOOL, a simple and intuitive graphical interface has been designed. A user/password will be requested previously to the technician in order to access it and authenticate the user's identity and the biobank. Users with permission to upload BIOPOOL samples will be stored in the Central Index so this GUI should be connected with this element. Once authenticated, the laboratory technician will access the graphical interface in which he could indicate the samples (images + clinical data) to send to the distributed storage solution and verify the status of the submission process for each of the samples. The interface incorporates two modes, manual mode and program mode. • Manual mode: The manual mode will allow the lab technician to select one by one the samples to be sent to the distributed storage solution. This way of working will be useful with samples belonging to different diseases, samples in different physical paths or to send some sample at the time. The interface is divided in two areas, the area to select the samples and the area for the shipping process. Figure 2: Service to send samples (I) In the area "Sample Selection Manual" the laboratory technician will select one by one the samples to be sent and will add them to the list of samples in the lower area of the screen, indicating the pathology associated. In the area "Sample Sharing", the technician will check the list of samples to share in BIOPOOL and will eliminate those wrongly selected with “Deselect” button. Once the technician agrees with the selected samples, he will start the submission process by clicking "Share". Figure 3: Service to send samples (II) Once the process is started, a progress bar will be showed and the sample list will reflect whether the sample has already been sent successfully, an error has occurred or has not been sent. The lab technician can stop the submission process at any time by clicking "Stop". • Schedule mode: The scheduled mode will allow the lab technician to program the shipment of samples to the distributed storage solution. This will allow not being present...
