Shift Work Conditions. Paragraph 54 – In order to meet customer requirements should flexible work schedules be required (i.e. ten (10) hour shifts, seven (7) day operation, etc.) such schedules shall be mutually agreed to between the United Association and the Employer and be made part of this Schedule “A” (or other such language necessary to meet facility management’s needs).
Shift Work Conditions. 1. When so elected by the Contractor, multiple shifts of at least three (3) consecutive work days duration may be worked. When two (2) or three (3) shifts are worked, the first (1st) or day shift will be eight (8) hours worked for eight (8) hours’ pay. The second (2nd) shift shall be seven and one- half (7½) hours worked for eight (8) hours’ pay. The third (3rd) shift shall be seven (7) hours worked for eight (8) hours’ pay. If Saturday and/or Sunday are worked to establish a shift, they shall be paid at the appropriate premium rate. The shift schedule may begin on any day of the week. The shift may be worked on a two-to-three shift basis. In the event overtime is worked on the first shift, it shall commence after eight (8) hours, on the second shift after seven and one-half (7½) hours, and on the third shift after seven (7) hours. When an individual works through two (2) consecutive eight (8) hour work periods, he/she shall remain on overtime until he/she receives a shift break of a minimum of seven (7) hours. This does not apply to call-ins as defined in Article XVII. The Contractor may establish extended scheduled overtime with respect to any shift. In the event that an employee does not work a full second or third shift, said employee shall be paid for actual time worked, plus one- half hour for the second shift and actual time worked plus one hour for the third shift. 33. Shifts may be established by the Employer, provided they are worked for three (3) or more consecutive working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The shift may commence on any day of the week.
34. The regular starting time for the first or day shift shall be 8:00 a.m.; the regular starting time for the second shift shall be 4:30 p.m.; and the regular time for the third shift shall be 12:30 a.m. When only a second shift is worked, it may start at anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The fore- going starting times may be changes when mutually agreed to between the Employer and the Union.
35. Where two or three shifts are worked, the first or day shift shall be estab- lished on an eight (8) hour basis; the second shift shall be established on
36. A second or third shift may be worked without the necessity of a first or day shift. However, all other requirements for shift work, including premium pay, shall apply for these shifts.
Shift Work Conditions. In the event that Operations and Maintenance requirements demand a long term, multiple shift, seven day work schedule, the shift schedules and the names of personnel assigned to those shifts shall be published for a period of at least three months. The Unions and the Company agree that this sort of work schedule is extremely unlikely at the MSFC Test Area and that if such working conditions were to be required a mutual Letter of Understanding would be adopted as an addendum to this Agreement. Shift differential will apply at the following rates: each individual will be paid an additional $1.05 per hour ($1.10 2nd year, $1.15 3rd year) for the second shift and $1.15 ($1.20 2nd year, $1.25 3rd year) for the third shift. It is further understood that day shift will consist of eight and one-half (8 ½) continuous hours inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid meal period. Second and third shifts will consist of eight (8) continuous hours inclusive of a 30-minute paid meal period.

Shift Work Conditions. Where employees work shifts, they shall be governed by the following conditions:
Shift Work Conditions. 1. Shifts may be established by the Contractor when required by the government:
(a) Shift hours and rates will be as follows: First Shift Eight (8) hours pay for eight (8) hours worked plus one- half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch period. Second Shift Eight (8) hours pay for eight (8) hours worked plus one- half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch period. A night differential of 7½ percent of the regularly scheduled non-overtime rate will be paid if the majority of the hours fall between 3PM and midnight. Third Shift Eight (8) hours pay for eight (8) hours worked plus one- half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch period. A night differential of 10 percent of the regularly scheduled non-overtime rate will be paid if the majority of the hours fall between 11PM and 8AM.
(b) Shifts shall be established and continued for a minimum of three (3) consecutive work days.
(c) If only two shifts are to be worked, the Contractor may regulate starting times of the two shift operations to permit the maximum utilization of daylight hours. If Saturday and/or Sunday are worked to establish a shift, they shall be paid at the appropriate premium rate. The shift schedule may begin on any day of the week. Shift Work Conditions. 45. Where it becomes necessary to work shifts for a period of not less than three (3) consecutive workdays in the same workweek, the second and third shifts shall be as follows:
46. Forty hours per week shall constitute a full week’s work. Any work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and all worked beyond the forty (40) hours per week shall be compensated subject to the provisions of Article XI.
