Common use of Short Parental Leave – Unpaid Clause in Contracts

Short Parental Leave – Unpaid. (a) This subclause 70.4 applies to an Eligible Employee who is a member of an Employee Couple. (b) An Eligible Employee who is not at that point taking Long Parental Leave, may take up to eight weeks’ leave concurrently with any parental leave taken by the other member of the Employee Couple . Short Parental Leave may be taken in separate periods but, unless the Employer agrees, each period must not be shorter than two weeks. (c) The period of Short Parental Leave will be deducted from the period of Long Parental Leave to which the Eligible Employee is entitled under subclause 70.3 (if applicable).

(c) The period of Short Parental Leave will be deducted from the period of Long Parental Leave to which the Eligible Employee is entitled under subclause 70.3 (if applicable).
