Common use of SICK LEAVE CONVERSION UPON RETIREMENT Clause in Contracts

SICK LEAVE CONVERSION UPON RETIREMENT. Upon retirement from active service with the County, an employee with ten(10) or more years of service with the state, and political subdivision, or any combination thereof, shall be paid in cash for one-fourth (25%) of the value of the employee’s accrued but unused sick leave credit. The payment shall be based on the employee’s rate of pay at the time of retirement. The maximum aggregate payment shall not exceed the value of two-hundred forty (240) hours of accrued but unused sick leave.
