Sick Leave for Medical. Dental, Family, Emergency* (a) engage in and facilitate the Employee’s personal preventative medical or dental care. Employees shall advise his/her immediate supervisor when he/she become aware of his/her need for personal medical, dental care for a shift the Employee is scheduled to work. Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied. (b) attend to emergencies where: (i) the Employee’s own medical or dental health is at an immediate and serious risk; (ii) a member of the Employee’s immediate family, as defined in Article 24.02(b), who has become ill or disabled, where the Employee’s personal attention is required and which could not be serviced by others or attended to by the Employee outside of his/her assigned shifts; (iii) there is a critical condition (fire, flood, or other natural disaster excluding the conditions of Article
