Common use of Sick Leave Permitted Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Permitted. Employees may use accrued sick leave with pay for absences necessitated as follows: a. Illness, including contagious disease, or injury for the first fourteen (14) days; thereafter, as a supplement (up to 100% of basic wages) to short-term or long- term disability insurance. b. Authorized absence for medical care and/or appointments for the first fourteen (14) days; thereafter, as a supplement (up to 100% of basic wages) to short-term or long-term disability insurance. c. Death, illness, or injury of a member of the immediate family: parent, child, spouse or domestic partner. To be eligible for the domestic partner benefit, the employee must register their domestic partner with the State of California and provide proof to the CITY. d. Bonding time after the birth or adoption of a child as specified in Section 3 below.
