Sick Leave Use/Family Illness. Sick leave shall not be considered as a privilege which an employee may use at his or her discretion but shall be allowed only in case of his or her sickness or disability or in the case of serious illness within the immediate family of the employee. Not more than fifteen (15) working days in any calendar year may be taken as sick leave because of the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family, except for serious medical conditions covered under the provisions of Administrative Regulation 2.4 (Family Care Leave). The immediate family of an employee, for the purpose of this Section, shall be defined as: spouse, domestic partner, son, daughter, parent or dependent.
