Voluntary Time Off. Voluntary Time Off (VTO) Program is intended to provide employees in a time of fiscal difficulties a means of taking unpaid time off work without losing benefits which depend on the employee being in a paid status. The following conditions apply:
Voluntary Time Off. The City will implement a voluntary time off (VTO) program, which may include a year-end holiday closure. It is understood by the parties that employee participation is completely voluntary and that employees who wish to work during such periods will be permitted to do so.
Voluntary Time Off. Full-time, permanent workers may request a reduction in their work hours by 1%, 2%, 5%, 10% or 20% through the Voluntary Time Off (VTO) Program as described in the County's Voluntary Time Off Policy as summarized herein. Workers may apply for the VTO Program at any time during the year. Application forms shall be made available through payroll clerks and the Benefits Office. Approved applications for enrollment received after April 1st of each year will be effective the first pay period in July of that year. Approved applications received prior to April 1st will be effective the pay period following receipt of approved applications in Human Resources Department. Participating workers shall be considered to be in a full-time pay status and the voluntary reduction in work hours will have no effect on the following benefits: - Health Insurance Coverage - Dental Insurance Coverage - Basic Life Insurance - Short Term Disability - Pay for Work-Out-Of-Class - Step Increases - Probationary Period - Seniority - Supplemental Life Insurance There will be no effect on accrual of vacation, sick leave and holidays; however, all regular or normal time taken off during the program for vacation, sick leave, holiday, or compensatory time will be compensated at the reduced hourly rate. The following benefit areas may be impacted by VTO under the following circumstances: Overtime: Overtime compensation will not begin until after forty (40) hours have been worked during any one work week, and voluntary time off shall not be considered as time worked when determining eligibility for overtime compensation.

Voluntary Time Off. Employee participation in this plan is contingent on the Town’s agreement and understanding that employee participation cannot be interpreted as anything other than a temporary and limited good faith effort being made by the employee to do his/her part to help ease the Town’s budget shortfall. This is not to be construed as a representation of employee commitment to a permanent program or an admission of any kind that the employee would not become harmed by such a plan becoming mandatory. Employees may request voluntary unpaid time off under the following circumstances:
Voluntary Time Off. 1. At times, based upon current business needs, the Company may solicit Flight Attendants to accept voluntary time off with or without pay. The Company will designate whether such voluntary time off will be paid or unpaid (and the number of hours of pay available to volunteers). Such requests are generally for no more than thirty (30) days. Such requests will be made available to Flight Attendants in seniority order with the most senior Flight Attendant having the first right of refusal to any Company offered voluntary time off with or without pay. A Flight Attendant who is scheduled for training during the period of time off will be required to attend the training if failing to do so will cause the Flight Attendant to become de-qualified. Nothing herein shall preclude the Flight Attendant from taking the training at an earlier date if available and approved by the Company. The Flight Attendant will be paid for such training in accordance with Section 3. A Flight Attendant on voluntary time off may not bid for open trips or other paid assignments. The Company will post these offers electronically.
Voluntary Time Off. 25 (1) When employee requests to reduce their work week or go on leave of absence without 26 pay are approved by their appointing authority as part of a cost reduction program due to 27 declining census, they will continue to accrue the following benefits as though their 28 employment status had not changed: 29 (a) Holiday 30 (b) Vacation Accrual 31 (c) Competitive Seniority 32 (d) Health, Dental and Life Insurance Premiums 33 (e) Sick Leave Accrual 1 (f) Pension Service Credits (prospectively and retrospectively)
Voluntary Time Off. When the Company is looking to reduce hours on a temporary basis due to operational need, employees may volunteer to take time off without pay. If there are more volunteers than opportunities available, the most senior volunteers on the shift affected will be given the time off. An employee who elects to take time off without pay under this provision shall be deemed to have waived any applicable daily guarantee. Use of voluntary time off shall not count as an “occurrence” under any no-fault attendance policy or otherwise count against the employee for attendance record purposes, and it shall not count against an employee for purposes of eligibility for holiday pay.
Voluntary Time Off. Voluntary Time Off (VTO) Program VTO Program eligibility, authorization of use, and conditions are specified and limited to the VTO Program document (Appendix C), which is incorporated herein by reference. The decision to use and authorize VTO is at the discretion of the department head. This section 31 and the terms, authorization, and conditions are not grievable or subject to arbitration.
