Special Holiday Clause Samples
Special Holiday. Any special holiday, as formally designated as a paid holiday for other City workers by City Council, when City offices are closed for all or part of the day, will also be observed as a paid holiday under this article. The mere closing of a facility or City building for any reason without this specific designation as a special paid holiday does not cause an entitlement to a paid holiday.
Special Holiday a. A Special Holiday is a day declared to be a holiday by the University for its employees, other than a Saturday, Sunday, Paid Holiday, or a day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Paid Holiday.
b. Where an employee works on a Special Holiday, he/she shall have the option of receiving an additional day’s pay or another day off with pay to be taken within twelve (12) months following the Special Holiday at a time mutually agreed by the employee and the department.
c. In the event a Special Holiday falls on an employee’s regular day off, he/she shall be given a day off in lieu to be taken within twelve (12) months following the Special Holiday at a time mutually agreed between the employee and the department.
Special Holiday. Employees shall receive a Special Holiday to the extent that such is granted by the City Council to all other Employees of the City.
Special Holiday. A special holiday shall be a special and non-recurring public holiday of general observance other than a Statutory Holiday proclaimed by the Government of the Dominion of Canada, as for example ▇-▇ Day. Double (2x) times the regular rate shall be paid to employees for all hours worked on a special holiday.
Special Holiday. In addition to the holidays specified herein, any day or portion thereof declared as a special holiday for other City employees by the City Council shall be recognized as a holiday, except Juneteenth which is recognized by a floating holiday.
