Specialists Persons working within a juridical person who possess uncommon knowledge essential to the commercial presence’s production, research equipment, techniques or management. In assessing such knowledge, account will be taken not only of knowledge specific to the commercial presence, but also of whether the person has a high level of qualification referring to a type of work or trade requiring specific technical knowledge, including membership of an accredited profession.
Specialist A dentist who focuses on a specific area of dentistry, including oral surgery, endodontia, periodontia, orthodontia and pediatric dentistry, or a group of patients to diagnose, manage, prevent or treat certain types of symptoms and conditions. Spouse: The person to whom the Subscriber is legally married, including a same sex Spouse. Spouse also includes a domestic partner. Subscriber: The person to whom this Contract is issued. UCR (Usual, Customary and Reasonable): The cost of a dental service in a geographic area based on what Providers in the area usually charge for the same or similar medical service. Us, We, Our: BlueShield of Northeastern New York and anyone to whom We legally delegate performance, on Our behalf, under this Contract. Utilization Review: The review to determine whether services are or were Medically Necessary or experimental or investigational (including treatment for a rare disease or a clinical trial). Teachers An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution, which is recognised by the competent authority in that other Contracting State, visits that other Contracting State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other Contracting State on his remuneration for such teaching or research.
SPECIALIST SERVICES Medical care in specialties other than family practice, general practice, internal medicine [or pediatrics][or obstetrics/gynecology (for routine pre and post-natal care, birth and treatment of the diseases and hygiene of females)].
Retired Teachers The BOARD may employ and assign retired teachers as day-to-day substi- tutes for no more than one hundred school days during the school year and shall pay such teachers the rate paid to day-to-day substitutes. The BOARD shall compensate such retired teachers in accor- dance with Appendix A-1L. Such retired teachers shall not be eligible for any other benefits provided to bargaining unit employees under this Agreement. The BOARD agrees that the employment and as- signment of retired teachers shall not result in the displacement of any appointed or assigned teacher.
PROFESSORS, TEACHERS AND RESEARCHERS 1. New Teacher Orientation The Association shall have the opportunity to participate in the opening in-service day including speakers for the sole purpose of greeting new faculty members and informing them of the opportunities available to them through joining their professional association.
New Teachers No new teachers shall be hired for a vacancy for which a teacher on unrequested leave is certified.
Special Education Teachers Whenever any Elementary Special Education class to which a student(s) is(are) added as a result of the distribution of students from the class of an absent Elementary Special Education teacher, Article 8-7 shall be in effect. In addition, whenever the class size of the receiving Special Education teacher exceeds the class size maxim mandated by Special Education class size law and/or regulation, the Xxxxxxxx Formula in AAA Case No. 1139-0696- 85, February 21, 1986, shall be used to calculate the compensation which said teacher shall receive as follows: The rate of pay for said teacher for teaching said additional students shall be computed by multiplying the teacher’s daily gross compensation by a fraction in which the denominator is twenty-six (26) and the numerator is the number of children taught in excess of Article 8-1.1 Item 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties.
