Common use of Standing By Clause in Contracts

Subject to any custom now prevailing under which the employee is required to regularly be available for a call-back, an employee required to be available for work after ordinary hours shall, until released, be paid standing-by time at ordinary rates from the time from which the employee is so told to be available.
