28.05 The Shop Xxxxxxx/Union Representative must report to perform the supervisor in charge of the department they wish to enter before contacting any employee in said department.
28.06 It is agreed that the Shop Xxxxxxx or Union business. The Unit Chairperson Representative shall employ this provision only for bona fide grievances and that the provisions herein extended shall not be afforded a steady day shift jobabused by them.

(a) The privileges of stewards and members of the Grievance Committee to leave their work without loss of basic pay for the purpose of processing grievances is granted subject to the following conditions:
(1) The processing of grievances must be between the Union and the Management. An employee having a grievance may discuss it with his xxxxxxx or a member of the Grievance Committee during working hours upon the approval of the Department Managers or Supervisors Foremen involved. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(2) The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee concerned shall obtain the permission of his supervisor xxxxxxx before leaving his work, and such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(3) The time away from productive work shall be reported in accordance with the timekeeping methods of the department concerned.
(4) The Company reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time taken to be excessive.
(5) The payment of stewards or members of the Grievance Committee for processing grievances shall not include time spent in proceedings before an arbitrator.
(b) The Company agrees that the Grievance Committee shall be paid at regular straight time hourly rates for all time spent in grievance meetings with the Company under the grievance procedure outside regularly scheduled hours of work.
5.05 Up to four (4) members of the Union Bargaining Committee will be compensated for time lost from their regular hours of work due to meetings held with Management for the negotiations of the renewal of this Agreement. This compensation will be at the employee's regular straight time hourly rate.
5.06 The company agrees that the Unit Chairperson shall be afforded one (1) hour from his regularly scheduled shift paid at regular straight time to perform Union business. The Unit Chairperson shall be afforded a steady day shift job.

Stewards and Grievance Committee. 5.01 The Company recognizes Stewards (including the right Chief Xxxxxxx and 5.18 Grievance Committee) herein referred to, shall be designated in writing from time to time by the Union to the Company, shall be employees and shall consist of an aggregate total of not more than one Xxxxxxx for each twenty-five (25) employees. The Union shall also, in such designation to the Company, state the group of employees for whom each such Xxxxxxx may act. One in addition each Xxxxxxx, shall be allowed time off, not in excess of one (1) xxxxxxx should, if possible, be from hour per week spent by the department in which the particular grievor works. 5.03 The Union will inform the Company in writing of the names of the stewards and of any subsequent change in the names of the stewards. The Company shall not be asked to recognize any xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received.

5.06 The company agrees that the Unit Chairperson shall be afforded one (1) hour per week, or the period of five (5) hours per week, as applicable, however, may be extended by mutual agreement, and if so extended it must be made a matter of record. The Company shall pay Stewards, Grievance 5.21 Committee members, the grieving employee and the President of the Union, for any time lost by them from his regularly scheduled shift their work during their regular working hours in connection with any of their duties herein mentioned. Members of the Union Grievance Committee will be paid at regular straight their average rate of earnings (excluding premium pay) for time to perform Union businessspent by them at Stage Three meetings called outside their scheduled working hours by the Director, Human Resources or their designated representative. The making of any such payments shall in no manner preclude the Company from discontinuing such payments at any time, if in the opinion of the Company, the time off for such purposes is excessive. The Union may appoint any member of the 5.22 Bargaining Unit Chairperson to act as a designated representative in connection with the administration of this Article. Such designated representative may act in place of any Local Officer, Xxxxxxx, or Grievance Committee member, and the names of any such designated representatives shall be afforded a steady day shift jobnotified to the Company in writing, in advance of their carrying out any activity in connection with the administration of this Article.

two (2) Stewards, consisting of the Chief Xxxxxxx and the Xxxxxxx from the department where the grievance originated, or their designated representatives. In addition the grievor may also be present. The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee concerned full-time Union Representative shall obtain the permission of his supervisor before leaving his work, and be entitled to attend all such permission shall not be unreasonably withheldmeetings.
(3) The 28.03 Shop Stewards may initiate discussions with the supervisors on any potential grievances within their departments. If this action does not solve the matter, the Chief Xxxxxxx and/or Union Representative will be allowed to further investigate. All such time away from productive work off for Shop Xxxxxxx or Chief Xxxxxxx shall be reported in accordance with the timekeeping methods of the department concerned.
(4) The Company reserves the right to limit pay, during such time if it deems the time taken to be excessive.

5.06 28.04 In the event that either a Shop Xxxxxxx or Chief Xxxxxxx must leave their job or department in connection with a grievance or potential grievance, they shall first notify their supervisor as to what department they are going to and give the explanation why they are going. The company agrees that the Unit Chairperson shall be afforded Employer must grant permission to such Xxxxxxx to leave as soon as possible and normally within one (1) hour from his regularly scheduled shift paid at regular straight time hour.
28.05 The Shop Xxxxxxx/Union Representative must report to perform the supervisor in charge of the department they wish to enter before contacting any employee in said department.
28.06 It is agreed that the Shop Xxxxxxx or Union business. The Unit Chairperson Representative shall employ this provision only for bona fide grievances and that the provisions herein extended shall not be afforded a steady day shift jobabused by them.
