Common use of STRIKE OR LOCK-OUT Clause in Contracts

STRIKE OR LOCK-OUT. 5.01 UWOSA agrees that there will be no strike (full or partial withdrawal of services) during the term of this Agreement. 5.02 UWO agrees that during the term of this Agreement there will be no lockout. 5.03 Strike and lockout bear the meanings used in the Ontario Labour Relations Act. 5.04 Employees have the right to decline to perform the normal duties of striking or locked-out employees of the Employer during a legal strike by another bargaining unit of employees of the Employer or during any lock-out of another bargaining unit by the employer. 5.05 Where individuals in a labour dispute, other than those in the bargaining unit, engage in a strike and maintain picket lines, and where employees of the bargaining unit could suffer personal harm, the Employer will endeavour to safeguard such employees.
