STRIKES AND OTHER DISRUPTIONS OF NORMAL WORK ROUTINE. Section 1. The protection of the public health, safety, and welfare demands that neither the Union, nor any individual County employee in the bargaining unit, or any person acting in concert with them will cause, sanction, or take part in any strike, walkout, sitdown, slowdown, stoppage of work, retarding of work, abnormal absenteeism, withholding of services, or any other interference with the normal work routine. The provisions of this Section 1 of this Article apply as long as this Agreement, or during any renewal or extension thereof, is in effect. Section 2. Violation of any provision of this Article by the Union will be cause for the County to terminate this Agreement upon the giving of written notice to this effect to the President of Local 1536, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, in addition to whatever other remedies may be available to the County at law or in equity. Section 3. Violation of any of the provisions of this Article by any individual County employee in the bargaining unit shall be just cause for the immediate discharge of that employee in addition to whatever other remedies may be available to the County at law or in equity. No County employee in the bargaining unit shall receive any portion of his salary and/or other fringe benefits while engaging in activity in violation of this Article. Section 4. The County agrees that it shall not lock out any employee because of a labor dispute or invoke Section 2 or Section 3 of the Article without just cause.
