Common use of Strikes and Walkouts Clause in Contracts

Strikes and Walkouts. It is the intent of the parties to this Agreement that the grievance procedure herein shall serve as a means for the peaceable settlement of all disputes that may arise between them concerning the terms of this Agreement. Recognizing this fact, the Union agrees that during the life of this Agreement, neither the Union, its agents, nor its members will authorize, instigate, aid or engage in work stoppage, slow-down or strike against the Employer. The Employer agrees that during the same period there will be no lockout. Any individual employee or group of employees who violates or disregards the prohibition of this section may be summarily discharged by the Employer without liability on the part of the County Board of Commissioners or Union.
