STUDENT ATHLETES AND ELIGIBILITY CHECK. At IC Catholic Prep, students are encouraged to get involved in a variety of clubs and athletic programs. Students must learn how to balance their academic and extracurricular activities while placing their primary focus on their academic success. Student-athletes intending to participate in athletics at the collegiate level must be aware of the core course and minimum GPA requirements for Division I and Division II programs. Detailed information is available on the NCAA Eligibility Center website. Student Athletes receiving a grade of 69 or below in two or more courses during the weekly eligibility check will be ineligible for a period of one week, In addition, student-athletes must have passed and received credit toward graduation for twenty-five (25) credit hours of high school work (the equivalent of 5 classes at IC Catholic Prep) for the entire previous semester to be eligible at all during the ensuing semester as described by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA).
