Common use of STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL NEEDS Clause in Contracts

STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL NEEDS. Situations may arise where a bargaining unit member will be teaching or otherwise providing services to a student for whom school health services are provided by the Employer or a third party in the school setting, even though the bargaining unit member will not be called upon to provide the services on a regular basis. In such circumstances if there is a reasonable possibility that the member may be called upon to provide the services on a substitute or emergency basis, before teaching or otherwise providing services to the student, the member shall be provided with that information and training as required for the particular student involved. The employer shall provide and maintain liability insurance on behalf of each bargaining unit member who is required to provide school health services.
