Substitutes and Representation Fees. It shall be an annual option to the Association as to whether to collect representation fees from substitutes who are in the bargaining unit. The representation fee for long-term substitutes who are members of the bargaining unit, and who have not joined the Association within twenty (20) calendar days of being notified of this provision, shall be assessed at the rate of 1/181 of the total annual dues required for membership in the Association for each day worked. Such fees for long-term substitutes shall accumulate during each month and a total deduction shall be made at the regular monthly pay date for all eligible days worked during the month. All such fees for substitute employees shall be forwarded monthly to the Monroe Education Association with a list of all substitute employees from whom said fees were deducted. The District henceforth shall be required to provide each substitute employee a copy of this Agreement on the first day said substitute works; this procedure will constitute the required notice provided above.
