Summary of Land Cover Types Sample Clauses

Summary of Land Cover Types. Please provide a written summary of descriptions for land cover types found on site including characteristic vegetation. The proposed Project is located within the California interior coast range in eastern Contra Costa County. The land cover types are depicted in Figures 3. SID 206,900 is located in oak savanna habitat along the valley floor of a north south oriented valley that contains Sycamore Creek which flows north along the valley floor to its junction with Xxxxx Creek. The valley is typified by grassland and oak savanna on the west facing slopes, and oak woodland on the east facing slopes. In the area around SID 206,900 the riparian zone along Sycamore Creek tends to be confined to a narrow herbaceous band along the stream channel, to the north there are scattered California sycamores (Platanus racemose) along the channel. The SID 206,900 workspace will come within approximately 15-20 feet of the ordinary high-water xxxx (OHWM) and will abut the top of the incised streambank at its closest point, the excavation will be set back several feet from the edge of the workspace and top of the streambank. There is no riparian vegetation within the workspace, riparian vegetation is confined to a narrow band along the OWHM. The grassland, oak savanna and understory in the oak woodland share a similar species composition composed of primarily non-native annual grasses such as slender wild oats (Avena barbata), brome grasses (Bromus diandrus, Bromus hordeaceus), and annual fescues (Festuca myuros), as well as common annual forbs and weedy species. The oak woodland and oak savanna are a mix of several species of oaks including: valley oak (Quercus lobata), interior live oak (Q. wislizeni), and blue oak (Q. douglasii), in addition, particularly along the lower elevations, California buckeye (Aesculus californica) is relatively common. The area containing the dig site is intensively grazed. SID 206,900 is pictured on Figures 2, 3 and 4.

Summary of Land Cover Types. Please provide a written summary of descriptions for land cover types found on site including characteristic vegetation. The proposed anomaly investigation and repair projects are located within the California interior coast range in Eastern Contra Costa County. The three project sites are situated in similar land cover types and are all located near the valley floor in areas of relatively steep foothill terrain. The areas surrounding the project sites are a mosaic of oak woodland, oak savanna, and non-native annual grassland. Project locations SID 206,370.23.52 & SID 206,320.32.41 are separated by approximately 190 feet (157 feet between the boundaries of the proposed workspaces) and share similar vegetative communities. These two repair locations are in intensively grazed oak woodland/grassland habitat dominated by non-native annual grasses such as slender wild oats (Avena spp.), brome grasses (Bromus spp.), and annual fescues (Vulpia spp.). Sycamore Creek which is in intermittent stream is located immediately to the west of the repair sites and forms the approximate boundary between the oak woodland to the west. Sycamore Creek near the repair locations does not have a distinctive or well defined riparian corridor. Project SID 208,840.14.69 is located on an existing road is in an area of oak savanna. The understory of the oak savanna is pre-dominantly non-native annual grasses such as slender wild oats (Avena spp.), brome grasses (Bromus spp.), and annual fescues (Vulpia spp.). Several stock ponds are located in the surrounding area with the nearest being approximately 600 feet to the northwest. Long Canyon Creek is present to the west of the repair location, it will not be impacted by project activities.
Summary of Land Cover Types. Please provide a written summary of descriptions for land cover types found on site including characteristic vegetation. All four digs sites are within annual grassland habitat grazed by cattle and the dominant species across all four sites included, slender wild oat (Avena barbata), Italian ryegrass (Festuca perennis), hare barley (Hordeum murinum subsp. leporinum), ripgut brome (Bromus diandrus), bur clover (Medicago polymorpha), and common fiddleneck (Amsinckia intermedia). Dig sites 12, 13, and 14 support small areas of purple needlegrass (Stipa pulchra).

In order to assure high quality and durable construction in conformity with approved plans and specifications and a high degree of reliability on statements and representations made by engineers, contractors, suppliers, and workers on Federal- aid highway projects, it is essential that all persons concerned with the project perform their functions as carefully, thoroughly, and honestly as possible. Willful falsification, distortion, or misrepresentation with respect to any facts related to the project is a violation of Federal law. To prevent any misunderstanding regarding the seriousness of these and similar acts, Form FHWA-1022 shall be posted on each Federal-aid highway project (23 CFR 635) in one or more places where it is readily available to all persons concerned with the project: 18 U.S.C. 1020 reads as follows: "Whoever, being an officer, agent, or employee of the United States, or of any State or Territory, or whoever, whether a person, association, firm, or corporation, knowingly makes any false statement, false representation, or false report as to the character, quality, quantity, or cost of the material used or to be used, or the quantity or quality of the work performed or to be performed, or the cost thereof in connection with the submission of plans, maps, specifications, contracts, or costs of construction on any highway or related project submitted for approval to the Secretary of Transportation; or Whoever knowingly makes any false statement, false representation, false report or false claim with respect to the character, quality, quantity, or cost of any work performed or to be performed, or materials furnished or to be furnished, in connection with the construction of any highway or related project approved by the Secretary of Transportation; or Whoever knowingly makes any false statement or false representation as to material fact in any statement, certificate, or report submitted pursuant to provisions of the Federal-aid Roads Act approved July 1, 1916, (39 Stat. 355), as amended and supplemented; Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years or both."

  • System Description The wet detention basin is designed to trap 80% of sediment in runoff and maintain pre-development downstream peak flows. The basin has two forebays (smaller ponds) located at the low end of two grass xxxxxx. In addition to runoff conveyance, the grass xxxxxx also allow infiltration and filtering of pollutants, especially from smaller storms. The forebays are each 4 feet deep. They are connected to the main pool by 18 and 24-inch metal pipes that outlet onto a rock chute. The forebays will trap coarse sediments in runoff, such as road sands, thus reducing maintenance of the main basin. The main pool will trap the finer suspended sediment. To do this, the pond size, water level and outlet structures must be maintained as specified in this Agreement (see Figures 1, 2 and 3). The main basin receives runoff from a 67.1 acre drainage area (41.2 acres within the subdivision and 25.9 acres off-site drainage coming from the east). During high rainfall or snow melt events, the water level will temporarily rise and slowly drain down to the elevation of the control structure. The water level is controlled by a 12-inch concrete pipe extending through the berm in the northwest corner of the basin (see Figures 1 and 3). On the face of the 12-inch pipe, there is metal plate with a 3-inch drilled hole (orifice) with stone in front of it. This orifice controls the water level and causes the pond to temporarily rise during runoff events. Washed stone (1- 2” diameter) is placed in front of the orifice to prevent clogging. High flows may enter the grated concrete riser or flow over the rock lined emergency spillway. “As-built” construction drawings of the basin, showing actual dimensions, elevations, outlet structures, etc. will be recorded as an addendum(s) to this agreement within 60 days after [Municipality Name] accepts verification of construction from the project engineer.
