Common use of Suspension or Discharge Grievance Clause in Contracts

Suspension or Discharge Grievance. A claim by an employee who has completed their probationary period that they have been unjustly discharged or suspended shall be treated as a grievance if a written statement of such grievance is lodged by the employee with the Employer at Step No. 2 within fourteen (14) business days after the date the discharge or suspension is affected.

Suspension or Discharge Grievance. A claim by an employee who that she has completed their probationary period that they have been unjustly suspended or discharged or suspended shall be treated as a grievance if a written statement of such grievance is lodged filed by the employee with the Employer at Step No. 2 within fourteen five (145) business calendar days after the date the employee has received notice of discharge or suspension in writing from the Employer. Such special grievance shall be taken up at Step 2 of the grievance procedure. It is affectedagreed that the Union Chairperson will be notified immediately upon the dismissal or suspension of any employee within the bargaining unit.
