Teacher-Parent Conferences. A. When determined necessary by the teacher, the teacher shall attempt to arrange and hold conferences with parents to discuss a student’s behavior or learning activities. 1. In the event such a conference is not held, a record of attempts to contact parents shall be maintained. Such records shall indicate the date, time, reason, and method used to contact. B. Teachers will arrange with the parent the most suitable time for the meeting to take place. 1. Teachers must be accessible during their workday, and the immediate supervisor shall arrange any relinquishment of their responsibilities. 2. If such a meeting must take place outside of the workday, compensatory time off is to be arranged by mutual agreement of the teacher and immediate supervisor. C. If a conference is arranged by someone other than the individual teacher(s), the time of the conference shall be agreed to by the teacher(s) involved. D. At least two (2) teacher-parent conferences will be scheduled prior to the beginning of the fourth quarter by elementary classroom teachers. When conferences are held, the date and any necessary documentation shall be recorded. 1. In the event such a conference is not held, a record of attempts to contact parents shall be maintained.
