Termination for Convenience (Professional Services) Clause Samples

A termination for convenience clause in professional services agreements allows one or both parties to end the contract at any time, without needing to prove breach or fault. Typically, the party wishing to terminate must provide advance written notice, and may be required to pay for services rendered up to the termination date, as well as certain agreed-upon costs or fees. This clause provides flexibility for clients or service providers to exit the relationship if business needs change, reducing the risk of being locked into an unfavorable or unnecessary contract.
