Termination of Probationary Employees. The employment of a probationary employee may be terminated within the probationary period if, in the University's judgement, the employee would not be suitable for continuing employment. During the probationary period, any shortfall in performance will be brought to the attention of the employee and the University will provide the employee with guidance in an effort to assist the employee to meet the performance requirements of the job, with the understanding that in certain situations an immediate termination may be warranted (i.e., theft, bullying and harassment, and violations of the Standards of Conduct.)
