Common use of Time Off for Grievances Clause in Contracts

Time Off for Grievances. If an employee desires the assistance of a representative of the Association in the processing of a grievance, the City agrees to permit one (1) Association representative reasonable time off during regular work hours, without loss of compensation or other benefits for this purpose. The grievant and/or authorized representative shall obtain the approval of their immediate supervisor before leaving their duty or work station or assignment for the purpose of processing a grievance.

Time Off for Grievances. If an employee desires the assistance of a representative of the Association Union in the processing of a grievance, the City agrees to permit one not more than two (12) Association representative Union representatives reasonable time off during regular work hours, hours without loss of compensation or other benefits for this purpose. The grievant and/or the authorized representative Union representative(s) shall obtain the approval of their his/her immediate supervisor or other authorized departmental supervisor before leaving their his duty or work station or assignment for the purpose of processing a grievance.
