Processing Grievances. The grievant shall be granted reasonable time off with pay from regularly scheduled duty hours to process a grievance, provided that the time off will be devoted to the prompt and efficient investigation and handling of grievances, subject to the following:
Processing Grievances. The Association Representative involved and the grieving supervisor shall not leave work or disrupt departmental routine to discuss grievances without first requesting permission from his/her immediate superior, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Association Representative and the grieving supervisor shall be allowed a reasonable amount of time during working hours while on the Appointing Authority's premises when a grievance is investigated or presented in Steps 1 and 2.

In addition, the Council Representative and the Council President or his/her designee, shall receive their regular pay if they participate in Step 2. If a class action grievance exists, only one of the grievants shall be permitted to appear without loss of pay as spokesperson for the class. The Council will designate the grievant in pay status. Class action grievances are defined as and limited to those grievances which cover more than one employee and which involve like circumstances and facts for the grievants involved.

It is recognized and accepted by the Employer and the Association that the processing of grievances as hereinafter provided is limited by the security requirements and the operational needs of the department and shall, therefore, be accomplished during working hours only when consistent with such needs. The grievance representatives (no more than two) involved and a grieving employee shall suffer no loss in pay when a grievance is processed during working hours provided the grievance representative and the employee have notified and received the approval of their supervisor(s) to be absent to process the grievance. Any questions arising out of and during the term of this Agreement involving its interpretation and application, which includes applicable provisions of the MLAs, but not jurisdictional disputes or alleged violations of Section 6.1 and 6.5 and similar provisions, shall be considered a grievance and subject to resolution under the following procedures.
Processing Grievances. Any questions arising out of and during the term of this Agreement involving interpretation or application of this Agreement, which includes applicable provisions of the Schedule A's, but not jurisdictional disputes or alleged violations of Article VI Section 6.1 and 6.4 and similar provisions, shall be considered a grievance and subject to resolution under the following procedures.
Processing Grievances. Prior to a mutually scheduled meeting with management at each step of the grievance procedure, the grievant and his/her designated Xxxxxxx will be permitted a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed one-half (½) hour per Grievant (or for group grievances one-half (½) hour per grievance), without loss of pay for consultation and preparation for such grievance meeting, during their regularly scheduled hours of employment. For purposes of pay only, one (1) Local Union representative and the grievant(s) shall be permitted an equivalent amount of time off from scheduled work in accordance with Article 8, Section B. for grievance meetings as provided for in Step Three and for arbitration hearings. Such employees shall be placed on annual leave for this purpose. The annual leave shall be converted to administrative leave once it is determined how much time was involved in the meeting or hearing. The Employer is not responsible for compensating any employees for time spent processing grievances outside their regularly scheduled hours of employment. Unless mutually agreed otherwise, the Employer is not responsible for any travel or subsistence expenses incurred by grievants or Stewards in processing grievances. The issue of agencies where no Xxxxxxx or Chief Xxxxxxx is selected because of the small number or scattered distribution of Bargaining Unit employees and the option of waiving Steps One and Two in the grievance procedure shall be an appropriate subject of secondary negotiations in the Department of Corrections. Processing Grievances. 4/8/1 The grievant, including a Union official in a Union grievance, will be permitted a reasonable amount of time without loss of pay to process a grievance from pre-filing through Step Three (including consultation with designated representatives prior to filing a grievance) during his/her regularly scheduled hours of employment. The employee’s supervisor will arrange a meeting to take place as soon as possible for the employee with his/her Union representative through the Union representative’s supervisor. 4/8/2 Designated grievance representatives will also be permitted a reasonable amount of time without loss of pay to investigate and process grievances from pre-filing through Step Three (including consultations) in their jurisdictional areas during their regularly scheduled hours of employment. Only one designated grievance representative will be permitted to process any one grievance without loss of pay as above. Further, in a group grievance, only one grievant, appearing without loss of pay, shall be the spokesperson for the group.
