I understand and agree that any personal device brought to school by my student can be confiscated if he/she violates the Policy (JS) or the school’s rules, and that my student can be prohibited from bringing a personal device to school. I understand and accept that the District has taken reasonable steps to block or filter material and information that is obscene or otherwise harmful to minors, as defined by the Board of Education. I also recognize, however, that it is impossible for the District to prevent access to all materials or information I might find harmful or controversial and I agree not to hold Mapleton Public Schools responsible for any such material accessed by my child. I understand and agree that Mapleton Public Schools is not capable of controlling what students access on their own personal electronic devices during school hours. I accept full responsibility for supervising my child’s Internet use outside of school, including blocking and/or filtering inappropriate content on personal electronic devices. I hereby release Mapleton Public Schools from all costs, claims, damages, or losses resulting from my child’s use of District technology devices, including use of the Internet and electronic communications, including but not limited to any user fees or charges incurred through the purchase of goods or services.
