TRAINING AND CONFERENCES. If required to attend training seminars, conferences, briefings or to gather information, a full-time nonexempt employee will be paid for a regular work day and will be granted compensatory time for worked hours exceeding 40 in that work week. A part-time employee will be paid for hours worked.

TRAINING AND CONFERENCES. Section 24.1. Except as set forth in Section 24.2 below, when employees are required to participate in any training or conference outside their regular work schedule, such hours shall be considered hours worked and compensated at the overtime rate. Employees will not be compensated for time spent participating in social activities related to such training or conference outside their regular work schedule. Section 24.2. Employees may be required by their supervisor to flex their time, per Section 6.1 and Section 7.2, during the workweek in which a training or conference occurs to avoid the payment of overtime. Section 24.3. Commuting time shall also be considered hours worked, consistent with applicable law. When an employee is required to attend a training or conference at a location that is closer to their home than the employee’s regular work site, the employee may be directed by the City to report directly to the training or conference site. In this situation the employee will not be compensated for time spent commuting to and from their home and the training or conference site, unless it is during the course of their working hours.

Employees will be allowed to take up to five (5) working days per year to voluntarily attend with management approval career and professional seminars, training sessions, workshops and conferences without loss of pay or vacation. B. Employees may be reimbursed from a station fund, budgeted at $5000/year, for classes and training reasonably related to the mission of KPFA and approved by management. Each individual can receive up to $500/year. The fund does not need to be disbursed each year. These can be classes taken for no grade. C. KPFA may require reports back or other reasonable means of sharing the benefits of such training throughout the station.

Tuition for coursework will be reimbursed depending on the current year’s available funding, with receipt and prior approval by the Library Employer. Travel time, to and from conference and training, makes up regularly scheduled work hours. Studying for coursework is unpaid.

TRAINING AND CONFERENCES. 26.1 In-service training shall be made available to employees where it has been established by the employee's management supervisor and the Executive Director that said in-service training is necessary for the efficient operation of the Authority. 26.2 Where it is determined by the employee's management supervisor or the Executive Director that the employee's ability to perform the duties required by their position will be enhanced, or that the Authority will benefit from their attendance at a particular conference, the Executive Director may authorize attendance. The Authority shall pay all reasonable costs and expenses necessary for employee attendance pursuant to the terms set forth in Article XXV. 26.3 The Authority shall post notices of training conferences/seminars which it deems relevant to the duties of employees. Employees may request authorization to attend conferences/seminars pursuant to the terms of this Article XXVI.
TRAINING AND CONFERENCES. The employees that attend local or regional training or conferences shall coordinate their scheduled attendance at such events, in advance, with their department heads.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved. b. Consistent with the contractor's work force requirements and as permissible under Federal and State regulations, the contractor shall make full use of training programs, i.e., apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs for the geographical area of contract performance. In the event a special provision for training is provided under this contract, this subparagraph will be superseded as indicated in the special provision. The contracting agency may reserve training positions for persons who receive welfare assistance in accordance with 23 U.S.C. 140(a). c. The contractor will advise employees and applicants for employment of available training programs and entrance requirements for each. d. The contractor will periodically review the training and promotion potential of employees who are minorities and women and will encourage eligible employees to apply for such training and promotion.

  • Training and Support Licensor shall offer installation support to the Licensee and each of the Members, including assisting with the implementation of any Licensor software. Licensor will provide appropriate training to Licensee and Member staff relating to the use of the Licensed Materials and any Licensor software. Licensor will offer reasonable levels of continuing support to assist Licensee and Members in use of the Licensed Materials, including providing help files and other appropriate user documentation in connection with the use of and access to Licensed Materials. Licensor will, at a minimum, make its personnel available by email, telephone or via the Web, or in person during Licensor’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday, for training and user access support.

  • Meetings and Conferences ‌ From time to time the Government may require attendance at Government conferences and meetings at no additional cost to the Government.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties. b) A copy of the pre-job conference report shall be provided to the Employer, the Union and the Job Xxxxxxx (s). A copy shall also be posted on the bulletin board(s) at the jobsite.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • Training Plan 19.6.1 An apprentice shall be a party to an individual Training Plan. 19.6.2 The Training Plan sets out the training that the apprentice will do both on – the – job and off – the – job. The Training Plan also sets out how the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) will ensure the apprentice will receive quality training – both on – the – job and off – the – job. 19.6.3 The Training Plan reflects the choices made by the employer and the apprentice in relation to:-
