TRANSPORTATION AND TRAVEL TIME. 14.01 The Employer shall remunerate employees for travel time as follows: a. There shall be a free travel zone equal to a forty kilometre (40km) radius around the Employer’s Kitchener office. No project within this free zone shall incur payment for travel time. b. There shall also be a free travel zone of forty kilometres (40km) around each worksite. An employee who resides within the free zone of a worksite to which he is assigned shall receive no payment for time spent traveling to that worksite. c. An employee that qualifies for travel time shall receive payment that is equal to the lesser of the following two (2) options: i. Time spent traveling each way from the boundary of the free zone described in (a) above, to the worksite; or ii. Time spent traveling each way from the boundary described in (b) above, to his place of residence. d. All travel time shall be rounded to the nearest quarter hour. e. Where it is reasonably practical and beneficial to do so, the Employer may establish a marshalling area at its office or at a worksite within the free zone described at paragraph (a). 14.02 If the Employer authorizes the use of an employee's vehicle for transportation of employees to and from jobsites, or for the transportation of materials, the employee shall be paid forty-five cents (45¢) per kilometre for such use. 14.03 Employees shall be obliged to travel together as much as possible to eliminate unnecessary car usage. 14.04 For projects that are out of town and which will require the employees to lodge overnight the following shall apply: a. Travel time, as calculated above, is paid. b. The Employer shall make mutually agreeable arrangements for lodging, c. The Employer and shall pay each employee a daily food allowance equal to one and one-half times (1½x) the foreperson hourly rate for each day that the employee is out of town, and d. Regardless of the amount of work available, the Employer shall pay at least four (4) hours per day that an employee is out of town, provided the employee was able to work. Where there is sufficient daylight or where lights are provided, where there is no inclement weather, where the work can be commenced prior to 4:00 p.m., and where it is safe to do so, the employees will be expected to work at least four (4) hours on such project. 14.05 Parking shall be arranged for employees by the Employer. If the Employer does not or can not provide parking, parking shall be reimbursed up to a maximum of two hundred hundred ($200) per month, upon submission of receipts. Receipts must be submitted by the end of the second week of the following month. Reimbursement shall happen on the third week of the following month. Parking fines shall not be reimbursed.

a. There and normally each employee shall meet at the shop or designated marshalling area and be a free travel zone equal to a forty kilometre (40km) radius around the Employer’s Kitchener office. No project within this free zone shall incur payment for travel time.
b. There shall also be a free travel zone of forty kilometres (40km) around each worksite. An employee who resides within the free zone of a worksite to which he is assigned shall receive no payment for time spent traveling to that worksite.
c. An employee that qualifies for travel time shall receive payment that is equal transported to the lesser of the following two (2) options:
i. Time spent traveling each way from the boundary of the free zone described site in (a) above, to the worksite; or
iia company provided vehicle. Time spent traveling each way from the boundary described in (b) above, to his place of residence.
d. All travel time shall be rounded to the nearest quarter hour.
e. Where it is reasonably practical and beneficial to do so, the The Employer may establish designate a marshalling area job site, within Kitchener/Waterloo, where all employees are required to meet directly at its office or at a worksite within the free zone described at paragraph (a)site.
14.02 If the Employer authorizes the use of an employee's vehicle for transportation of employees to and from jobsites, or for the transportation of materials, the employee owner shall be paid forty-five at least fifty cents (45¢50¢) per kilometre for such use.
14.03 Employees shall be obliged to travel together as much as possible to eliminate unnecessary car usage.
14.04 When an employee's vehicle is used for hauling company materials, the owner shall be paid twenty-five cents (25¢) per kilometre for such use in addition to mileage specified in 14.02 above.
14.05 Employees shall be paid for their entirety of their time for one way travel to a project where travel time exceeds ninety (90) minutes from the Employer’s shop or designated marshalling area.
14.06 For projects that are out of town and which will require the employees to lodge overnight the following shall apply:
a. Travel time, as calculated abovedescribed in Article 14.04 and 14.05, is paid.as may apply;
b. The Employer shall make mutually agreeable arrangements for lodging,;
c. The Employer and shall pay each employee a daily food allowance equal to one and one-half times thirty- five dollars (1½x$35.00) the foreperson hourly rate for each day that the employee is out of townper night away from home, and
d. Regardless of the amount of work available, the Employer shall pay at least four (4) hours per day that an employee is out of town, provided the employee was able to work. Where there is sufficient daylight or where lights are provided, where there is no inclement weather, where the work can be commenced prior to 4:00 p.m., and where it is safe to do so, the employees will be expected to work at least four (4) hours on such project.
14.05 Parking 14.07 Subject to the rules of the Income Tax Act, as may be amended from time to time, all payment that arises from Article 14 shall be arranged for employees deemed travel allowance, to be paid by separate paycheque or deposit, and subject only to the Employer. If the Employer does not or can not provide parking, parking shall be reimbursed up to a maximum of two hundred hundred ($200) per month, upon submission of receipts. Receipts must be submitted by the end of the second week of the following month. Reimbursement shall happen on the third week of the following month. Parking fines shall not be reimbursedminimum taxes required.
