Common use of Union or Public Office Leave Clause in Contracts

Union or Public Office Leave. Any employee who is elected or selected for a full time position with the Union, or any organization with which the Union is affiliated, or who is elected to public office, shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for the term of office if elected, or up to three (3) years if appointed and on a year to year basis thereafter with mutual agreement between the Corporation and the Union. Public Office shall be deemed to be municipal, provincial and federal offices.
