Common use of Union Policy Grievance Clause in Contracts

Union Policy Grievance. 13.01 A union policy grievance, which if defined as an alleged violation of this Agreement, concerning all or a substantial number of the employees in a bargaining unit, may be lodged by the Union in writing with the Associate Vice President or his/her designate, at Step 2 of the grievance procedure at any time within five (5) full working days after the circumstances giving rise to such grievance occurred or originated, and if it is not satisfactorily settled it may be processed to Step 3, and to arbitration in the same manner and to the same extent as the grievance of an employee. However, it is expressly understood that the provisions of this clause may not be used to institute a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees which such employee or employees could themselves initiate and the regular grievance procedure shall not be thereby bypassed.

Union Policy Grievance. 13.01 A union policy grievance, Union Policy Grievance which if is defined as an alleged violation of this Agreement, Agreement concerning all or a substantial number of the employees in a the bargaining unit, or in regard to which a number of employees have signified an intention to grieve, may be lodged brought forward by the Union Grievance Committee in writing with the Associate Vice President or his/her designate, at Step 2 of the grievance procedure at any time within five (5) full working days after the circumstances giving rise to such policy grievance occurred or originated, and if it is not satisfactorily settled at this stage, it may be processed go to Step 3, 3 of the grievance procedure and ultimately to arbitration a Board of Arbitration in the same manner and to the same extent as the a grievance of an employee. However, it It is expressly understood that the provisions of this clause Article may not be used by the Union to institute a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees which could have been instituted by such employee or employees could themselves initiate and the regular grievance procedure provisions of Article 8.02 shall not thereby be thereby bypassed.
