Common use of UNION SECURITY & CHECK-OFF Clause in Contracts

UNION SECURITY & CHECK-OFF. Section 1. Upon receipt of a written authorization from an employee covered by this agreement, the Employer shall deduct from the employee's pay the amount owed to the Union by such employee for dues. The Employer will remit such sums to the Union within thirty (30) calendar days. Changes in the Union membership dues rate will be certified to the Employer in writing over the signature of the authorized officer or officers of the Union and shall be done at least annually with thirty (30) calendar days in advance of such change. Section 2. The Employer will provide the Association with a list of newly hired and terminated employees at least monthly. The list may include mutually agreed upon pertinent member information and will be sent to the Union. Section 3. The Union will indemnify and hold the Employer harmless against any claim made and against any suit instituted against the Employer, on account of any provision of this Article.
