PAID EDUCATION LEAVE & SOCIAL JUSTICE FUND. 24.01 The Company agrees to pay three cents ($0.03) per hour per employee for all compensated hours upon ratification for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies to be paid by cheque made payable to: CAW Leadership Training Fund, on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by the National Union, CAW effective from the date of ratification of this Agreement, and sent by the Company to the following address: 24.02 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will, upon written request made at least five (5) working days in advance, be granted a leave of absence without pay for up to twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary. Such level of absence is to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. The Union and the Company agree that a maximum of twenty (20) days leave will be allowed during each year of the term of this agreement. Employees on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave. 24.03 The Company agrees to pay into a special fund one ($0.01) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of contributing to the C.A.W. –

PAID EDUCATION LEAVE & SOCIAL JUSTICE FUND. 18.01 The Employer agrees to pay into a special fund at a one time lump sum contribution of $50.00 for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such paid education leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the employee’s skills in all aspects of Trade Union functions. Such monies to be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union at 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxxxxx X0X 0X0. The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses, will be granted a leave of absence without pay for twenty one (21) days of class time, plus travel time where necessary, said leave of absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period per calendar year. Employees on such leave of absence will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave. 18.02 The Employer agrees to pay into a special fund at a one time lump sum contribution of $50.00 for the Social Justice Fund.

Such leave will be for the upgrading of employee skills in all aspects of union functions. Such monies will be forwarded to the Union’s National office on a quarterly basis in arrears.

PAID EDUCATION LEAVE & SOCIAL JUSTICE FUND. 40.01 The Company agrees to pay into a special fund one and a half (1.5) cents per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Said paid education leave will be for the purpose of upgrading functions. Such monies to be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by Unifor and sent by the Company to 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx, X0X 0X0. 40.02 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit, selected by the Union to attend such courses, will be granted a leave of absence, subject to the terms of clause 25.01, without pay for twenty (20) days of class time, plus travel time where necessary, said leave of absence to be intermittent over a 12 month period from the first day of leave. Employees on paid leave of absence will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave. 40.03 The Company will make a $500 (five-hundred) dollars annual contribution to Unifor’s Social Justice Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial assistance to such entities as food banks, registered Canadian charities and international relief measures to assist the innocent victims of droughts, famines, and other dislocations.

Such leave will be for the upgrading of Employee skills in all aspects of union functions. Such monies will be forwarded to the Union office on a quarterly basis in arrears. 45.02 Effective April 1, 2013, the Employer agrees to contribute one cent (1C) per hour worked per Employee to the UNIFOR Social Justice Fund. The Fund is a registered non-profit charity which contributes to Canadian and International non-partisan, nongovernmental relief and development organizations. Such monies will be forwarded to the Union office on a quarterly basis ii arrears.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.

  • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."
