Common use of Use of Special Compensatory Leave Clause in Contracts

Use of Special Compensatory Leave. (1) When an employee earns special compensatory leave credits, the employee shall have 60 calendar days in which to use the earned special compensatory leave time. (2) If the employee fails to use the earned special compensatory leave during the 60 day period, the supervisor shall schedule the employee to use the leave. (3) An employee who has a leave balance in excess of 240 hours shall be required to use a minimum of 120 hours of the employee’s earned special compensatory leave each calendar year or the amount necessary to bring the employee’s special compensatory leave balance to 240 hours, whichever is less, prior to using any annual leave credits.
