Common use of Verbal Complaint Clause in Contracts

Verbal Complaint. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints of Employees shall be adjusted as quickly as possible, and it is understood that an Employee has no grievance until he or she has first given his/her immediate supervisor or their designate an opportunity to adjust his or her complaint. A complaint shall only be considered if it is raised and acknowledged by the immediate supervisor within seven (7) days of the event giving rise to the complaint or within seven (7) days after the employee has or ought to have had knowledge of the event giving rise to the complaint. The immediate supervisor will provide a response within three (3) days. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, the complaint may then be taken up as a grievance in the following manner:
