Common use of Verification of Illness Clause in Contracts

Verification of Illness. 12.2.1 The District may require written verification of the unit member’s or family member’s illness by the treating physician or practitioner whenever a unit member’s absence record shows chronic absenteeism or a pattern of absences immediately before or after weekends and/or holidays or whenever clear evidence indicates that absence is not related to illness or injury.
