Verification of Illness. Xxxx leave absence in excess of 3 consecutive work days must be verified in writing by the employee's doctor. In lieu of such medical verification, the Department Head may accept the employee's signed statement concerning the nature of the illness. Supervisors may require a signed statement from the employee explaining the nature of the employee's illness in cases of sick leave absence of 3 days or less.
