Common use of When the Sick Leave Bank is Granted Clause in Contracts

When the Sick Leave Bank is Granted. Unit members who suffer catastrophic illness or injury which results in the unit member using all available paid leave, allowed pursuant to this article shall become eligible to use this Sick Leave Bank, subject to restrictions and conditions outlined in this policy. The duration of Sick Leave Bank use shall continue until the catastrophic illness or event has been resolved. Upon resolution of the catastrophic illness or event and the return of the unit member to work on a regular basis, the unit member may use up to five (5) additional days from the sick leave bank in the same school year for any new sick leave. 17.10.5.1 Withdrawals from the Catastrophic Leave Bank shall be granted in units of no more than forty (40) duty days. Unit members may submit a request for an extension of a withdrawal for up to two (2) additional forty (40) duty day allotments for each catastrophic illness or injury.
