Common use of While on Parental Leave Clause in Contracts

While on Parental Leave. an Employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate service and seniority credits for the duration of their leave, and their service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous. However, service accumulated during Parental Leave shall not be used for the purposes of calculating vacation leave credits. For the purposes of calculating vacation leave credits during the year in which Parental Leave is taken, one (1) month of service shall be credited to an employee who does not receive salary for a total of seventeen (17) calendar days or more during the first and last calendar months of the Parental Leave granted under Article 23.14.
