WORK EQUIPMENT REIMBURSEMENT. The Department will reimburse employees for personal property stolen, damaged, lost, or destroyed as a result of the employee’s performance of his/her required duties. However, reimbursement may not be granted if an employee's negligence or wrongful conduct was a substantial contributing factor for the theft, damage, loss, or destruction. The final decision whether to reimburse for repairs or whether to replace the item shall remain with the Department. Only those personal items that have a direct use or application in the employee’s performance for assigned job duties will be considered for reimbursement under this Article. Employees will receive reimbursement for certain specified items at the lower of the replacement cost, or amount specified below. WORK EQUIPMENT REIMBURSEMENT. The Authority will reimburse employees for personal property stolen, damaged, lost, or destroyed as a result of the employee’s performance of his/her required duties except in the employee’s negligence, up to $150.00 per item. Prescription eye glasses, prescription sunglasses, and/or frames, if not covered by Workers’ Compensation, will be reimbursed up to $400.00. Non-prescription sunglasses shall be limited to no more than $50 and will only be reimbursed if they are ANSI Z87.1 rated safety glasses. Cell phones will be reimbursed at $300.00.
