Common use of Work on a Statutory Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Statutory Holiday. Where an employee is required to work on a statutory holiday, the employee will be paid one and a half (1½) times the employee’s regular wage for the time worked on the statutory holiday, up to twelve (12) hours and double (2x) the employee’s regular wage for any time worked over twelve (12) hours on that day. The employee is not entitled to a day off in lieu of the statutory holiday where they have worked on the statutory holiday.

Where an a seasonal employee is required scheduled to work on a statutory holiday, the employee will shall be paid one at time and a one-half (1½x) times the employee’s regular wage their normal wage/salary for the time all hours worked on the statutory holiday, up to twelve eleven (1211) hours and double time (2x) the employee’s regular wage their normal wage/salary for any time all hours worked over twelve in excess of eleven (1211) hours on that day. The employee is not entitled to and be given a day off with pay in lieu of the statutory holiday where they have worked holiday. Where a casual employee is scheduled to work on the a statutory holiday., the employee shall be paid at time and one-half (1½x) their normal wage/salary for all hours worked up to eleven
