Common use of Work Period and Work Day Clause in Contracts

Work Period and Work Day. The normal work period shall consist of forty (40) hours within a seven (7) day period or eighty (80) hours within a fourteen (14) day period. The normal work day shall consist of eight (8) hours plus an unpaid meal period of one-half (1/2) hour.

The normal work day shift shall consist of eight (8) hours plus an unpaid meal period of work to be completed within eight and one-half (1/28 ½) hourconsecutive hours, or twelve (12) hours to be completed within twelve and one-half (12 ½) consecutive hours. All work shifts shall include a 30 minute meal period to be taken on the nurse’s own time if relieved of his/her duties during this period.
