WORK YEAR/WORK DAY. CAFETERIA SUPPORT STAFF – Work Year/Work Day The cafeteria support staff of the Little Egg Harbor Twp. Support Staff Association work year shall be one hundred eighty (180) workdays. Employees may be required to work up to five (5) additional workdays. Each employee shall be compensated for hours worked on such additional workdays at his/her regular hourly rate, or, at the discretion of the Superintendent, by an equal number of hours off, with pay, on days to be designated by the Board. Each employee’s regular work day, not including an unpaid meal break, shall not exceed eight (8) hours. The Board shall determine the specific workday for each cafeteria employee. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute duty free lunch break each day. Employees shall be required to sign in and sign out each day. Each employee’s actual hours of work shall be recorded on the sign-in/sign-out sheets. Hours not worked when employees are dismissed early, such as on student early dismissal days, may be used for staff meetings, and for training. Except in the case of sudden need, staff shall be informed of the specific dates and times of such training or meetings at least two or more weeks in advance. Such training and/or meetings may occur on, prior to, or after the day(s) when staff is to be dismissed early. When an employee is directed to attend out of district training programs or workshops by the Superintendent or designee, he/she shall be paid his/her straight hourly rate commencing with sign in and ending with sign out at the program or workshop but not for more hours than preapproved by the Superintendent or designee. In the event such training or workshop is scheduled for a regular work day, however, the employee shall be guaranteed a minimum of a regular day’s pay, but the employee may be required to perform regular work for the portion of the day that the training or workshop schedule permits.

WORK YEAR/WORK DAY. CAFETERIA SUPPORT STAFF – Work Year/Work Day 7.1 The cafeteria support staff regular workday for full-time secretaries shall consist of seven (7) hours per day, Monday through Friday, exclusive of lunchtime. Starting times for secretaries in the school buildings may be scheduled up to one half hour before the start of the Little Egg Harbor Twpstudent day, and the duties, responsibilities, and assignments of secretaries may be determined with respect thereto. Support Staff Association During the weeks in summer when schools are closed, the regular work week for full time secretaries may be scheduled as eight and three quarters (8.75) hours per day, four days per week, Monday through Thursday, exclusive of lunch time. All work time over thirty-five (35) hours per week approved by the immediate supervisor shall be compensated at the regular rate. Time over forty (40) hours per week shall be compensated at time and a half. Portions of an hour shall be at the pro-rata amount.
7.2 Twelve (12) month secretaries shall work from July 1 through June 30, except for the paid holidays as noted in Article VIII. Ten (10) month secretaries shall work from September 1 through June 30, except for the paid holidays as noted in Article VIII. Ten (10) month secretaries shall be compensated at the rate of 10/12th of the salary guide, as set forth in Appendix A attached to this Agreement. Part-time secretaries shall be compensated on a pro-rata basis by time worked according to the base salaries set forth in these Schedules. Both of the foregoing provisions shall be implemented according to their express terms, notwithstanding any past practice or prior agreement to the contrary.
7.3 The regular workday for full-time Paraprofessionals shall not exceed seven (7) hours per day, Monday through Friday, excluding a duty-free lunch period. Starting times for Paraprofessionals in the school buildings shall be scheduled by the immediate supervisors. All work time over a Paraprofessional's regularly scheduled work day/year, approved by the immediate supervisor, shall be compensated at the regular hourly rate. Time over 40 hours in any full workweek shall be compensated at time and a half. Portions of an hour shall be prorated. Paraprofessionals who work more than four (4) hours per day shall have a duty-free lunch period (to be the length of the period in the building), pursuant to the first paragraph of this section.
7.4 Paraprofessionals' work year shall be one hundred eighty (180) workdays. Employees may be required to those days that school is in session.
7.5 Effective July 1, 2013, the Paraprofessionals’ work up to five (5) additional workdays. Each employee year shall be compensated for hours worked on such those days that school is in session, plus one additional workdays at his/her regular hourly rate, or, day at the discretion beginning of the Superintendentschool year, by an equal number of hours off, with pay, on days to be designated by the Board. Each employee’s regular work day, not including an unpaid meal break, shall not exceed eight (8) hours. The Board shall determine the specific workday for each cafeteria employee. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute duty free lunch break each day. Employees shall be required to sign in and sign out each day. Also, effective July 1, 2013, Paraprofessionals shall be permitted to leave work 15 minutes after student dismissal on days of early dismissal for students, when teachers have in-service training or conferences.
7.6 Daily Work Hours
7.6.1 Schedule Posting - Work schedules showing the employee's shifts, work days, and for training. Except in the case of sudden need, staff hours shall be informed of the specific dates and times of such training or meetings at least two or more weeks in advance. Such training and/or meetings may occur on, prior to, or after the day(s) when staff is to be dismissed early. When an employee is directed to attend out of district training programs or workshops posted by the Superintendent or designeehead custodian in each school.
7.6.2 Work Shift - Eight hours of work, he/she exclusive of a 30 minute lunch period, shall constitute a work shift. All employees who were employed prior to January 1, 1999 shall be paid his/her straight hourly rate commencing with sign in and ending with sign out at the program or workshop but not for more hours than preapproved by the Superintendent or designee. In the event such training or workshop is scheduled for to work on a regular work day, however, the employee shift and shall be guaranteed a minimum advised of a regular day’s paystarting and quitting time. A regular shift shall mean on that commences on Monday and ends on a Friday. All employees hired on or after January 1, but 1999 shall be subject to working an alternate shift, which shall commence on a Tuesday and end on a Saturday. Employees who were employed prior to January 1, 1999 may voluntarily accept such alternative shift for an agreed upon duration, which agreement shall not subject the employee may to further mandatory alternate shift work. Changes to an employee's working hours shall be required by mutual agreement whenever possible. The parties agree to perform regular continue the existing practice of implementing a four-day work for week during the portion summer months, which has the effect of the day that the training or workshop creating a longer shift. Such summer schedule permitsshall not be deemed to violate this agreement.
