Common use of Written Procedure Clause in Contracts

Written Procedure. If the grievance is not resolved, a member of the Executive Board or certified bargaining agent shall reduce the grievance to writing and present it to the Sheriff or his designated representative within seven (7) days after its occurrence. The grievance shall be dated and signed by the aggrieved employee and his representative shall set forth the facts, including dates, and provisions of the Agreement that are alleged to have been violated and the remedy desired. The grievance shall not be considered submitted until the Sheriff receives the written grievance. At the time it is received, it shall be dated and a copy returned to the aggrieved employee. Insofar as practical, within five (5) days a meeting will be arranged by the representative who signed the grievance and the Sheriff, or his designated representative, to discuss the grievance. The Sheriff, or his designated representative, will then answer the grievance in writing within five (5) days from the date of the meeting in which the grievance was discussed.
