Ambulance Service Plan definition

Ambulance Service Plan means a written document that outlines a process for establishing a county emergency medical services system. A plan addresses the need for and coordination of ambulance services by establishing ambulance service areas for the entire county and by meeting the other requirements of these rules. Approval of a plan will not depend upon whether it maintains an existing system of providers or changes the system. For example, a plan may substitute franchising for an open-market system.
