Apprentice Engineers definition

Apprentice Engineers shall consist of trainees on mainline pipelines who shall work under the supervision of a Principal Operator. Trainees may be employed as oilers, mechanic's helpers, serviceman's helpers or as spotters with boom tractors, bending machines, power mounted drills, bulldozers or boring machines in such manner as agreed at the Pre-job Conference. The Employer shall employ at least two (2) Apprentice Engineers, who shall be given ample opportunity to operate under the supervision of a Principal Operator whenever circumstances permit. Where the Local Union has established a joint training plan, Apprentice Engineers shall be hired in accordance with the procedures established by the joint training committee. The apprentices shall be hired in the following manner: the first Apprentice Engineer shall be hired not later than the Grade Crew and the second Apprentice Engineer shall be hired not later than the Lowering-in Crew.

  • The starting rate for Apprentice Engineers shall be seventy percent (70%) of the Class I base wage, plus the payment of all fringes (except the Journeyman and Apprentice Training Fund).

  • For every 1,000 hours total of Training and Job Related Training the Apprentice Engineers rate will be increased by five percent (5%) of the Class I base wage plus applicable fringes, subject to the Apprenticeship Rules and receiving a passing grade on the validated competency tests, as certified by the Operating Engineers Local 324 Journeyman and Apprentice Training Committee (JATC).

  • When fifty (50) engineers are employed on the job site, three (3) Apprentice Engineers shall be employed, if available; and one (1) additional Apprentice Engineer shall be employed, if available, for each fifty (50) engineers until a maximum of five (5) Apprentice Engineers are employed.

  • Any question relative to the classification of Master Mechanics, Engineers, Mechanics, Oilers or Apprentice Engineers will be settled by the Contractor and the Union Representative.

Related to Apprentice Engineers

  • Professional Engineer means a person entitled to practise as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario under a licence issued under the Professional Engineers Act;

  • Site Engineer means an Engineer appointed by the SBIIMS at site as their representative for day-to-day supervision of work and to give instructions to the contractors.
